Sprint Race Penalties

Time penalties handed down following sprint race

3 drivers have been handed time penalties by the race stewards following this afternoon’s Sprint Race at the Circuit de Monaco.

Championship leader Charles Leclerc was given a 10 second time penalty for causing a collision with Norman Nato at Rascasse: neither men finished the race due to damage sustained, with Leclerc able to continue briefly before retiring in the pits.

Sergio Canamasas also received a 10 second time penalty for causing a collision with Oliver Rowland: the Briton continued but finished just outside of the points in 9th, with the Spaniard having to pit for a new front wing before crossing the line as the final finisher in 17th.

Finally Louis Delétraz received a 5 second time penalty after being judged to have left the track and gained an advantage, namely overtaking Leclerc. The Swiss driver’s classification remains unchanged in P16.
