Franco Colapinto arrived in Formula 2 after impressing in two campaigns of FIA Formula 3. The Argentinian driver joined MP Motorsport for the 2024 campaign.

After two point-scoring finishes in the opening three rounds of the season, Colapinto earned his maiden victory in the Championship in Round 4 at Imola with a final-lap pass for victory in the Sprint Race.

He added another seven points finishes that included two P2 results and a maiden F1 race weekend appearance, driving in FP1 at the British Grand Prix for Williams Racing.

Ahead of the 2024 Italian Grand Prix, Colapinto was confirmed as replacement for Logan Sargeant at the Williams for the remainder of the 2024 F1 season.
