Fresh off of being crowned as the Formula 3 Champion, Bortoleto wasted no time getting up to speed in F2, securing pole position at the season-opener in Sakhir.
A string of points scoring results and second place finishes followed in Imola and Monte Carlo before that maiden victory came in the Spielberg Feature Race in Round 7.
His consistency continued as he added more points to his tally and another second-place finish at the Spa-Francorchamps Feature Race put him second in the Drivers’ Championship heading into the summer break.
The Brazilian driver then produced one of the great drives ever seen in Formula 2 history, going from last to first in the Monza Feature Race, giving him his second win of the season.
He would finish in the points in both races at the next event in Baku with his P4 result in the Feature enough to see him take the Championship lead with two rounds to go.
But before those rounds got underway, his impressive performances earned him promotion to Formula 1, with Kick Sauber announcing that Bortoleto would drive for them on a multi-year deal starting in 2025.
