Logan Sargeant

After just missing out on the FIA Formula 3 Championship in 2020 and following that up with an impressive campaign with Charouz Racing System in 2021, Logan Sargeant graduated to Formula 2 with Carlin for 2022 and as a member of the Williams Driver Academy.

The American driver hit the ground running with six point-scoring results from the opening eight races of the campaign, including his maiden F2 podium in the Barcelona Sprint Race.

After just missing out on points in the Monte Carlon Sprint, Sargeant commenced another impressive scoring streak, including back-to-back Feature Race victories at Silverstone and Red Bull Ring. The results thrust him into Championship contention, moving him ahead of Théo Pourchaire and up to second in the Drivers’ Standings.

Unfortunately, a DNF in a critical Le Castellet Feature Race halted the Carlin driver’s momentum, and he couldn’t quite recapture his title-contending form from earlier in the campaign.

Having completed several Free Practice 1 sessions with Williams during the 2022 F1 season, Sargeant needed a P7 finish in the final round of the year in order to secure his Super Licence and with it, a seat on the 2023 F1 grid with the British team.

A controlled drive to fifth at Yas Marina all but confirmed him as the newest driver on the Formula 1 grid and the first American driver to graduate from FIA Formula 2.
