Two drivers have received penalties following the conclusion of Round 6’s Feature Race in Baku.

Firstly, Amaury Cordeel has received a three-place grid drop for the next race he participates in for causing a collision with Olli Caldwell on the opening lap. Having been behind the Belgian driver through Turns 3 and 4, Caldwell chose the outside line and was alongside Cordeel on the straight approaching Turn 4. The Stewards determined that the Van Amersfoort racer was focused on the cars ahead and he did not spot the Campos Racing driver to his left. He then moved across to the left, resulting in contact with Caldwell, which forced the pair into the wall. The Belgian has been deemed wholly at fault for the incident.

Cordeel also collected one more penalty point, making his total to 12, and is suspended for next round in Silverstone.

Moreover, Roy Nissany has also been handed a three-place grid drop for the next race he takes part in, after being found to be wholly at fault for causing a collision with Cem Bölükbasi on Lap 12. The Stewards found that Nissany attempted to pass the Charouz Racing System driver around the outside of Turn 2. However, the DAMS driver was not fully alongside nor ahead at the apex of the corner. At the exit of the turn, Nissany’s front left wheel collided with Bölükbasi’s right rear wheel, causing both drivers to crash into the barriers.
