Following the conclusion of the FIA Formula 2 Sprint Race in Spielberg, Rafael Câmara has been handed a post-race penalty.

The Invicta Racing driver was alleged to have caused a collision at Turn 3 on the opening lap of the race with Car 17 of Tasanapol Inthraphuvasak.

After the race, the Stewards heard from both drivers and their team representatives and examined video evidence from both onboard cameras and external views of the incident.

They determined that Car 1 was wholly to blame for the collision between the two cars, breaching Appendix L, Chapter IV, Article 2 (d) of the FIA International Sporting Code.

However, they also noted several mitigating factors, including the incident occurring on the opening lap and at a corner with a large group of cars competing for space, which created a concertina affect.

As a result, they applied the lesser five-second time penalty. With his penalty applied, Câmara falls to ninth in the Sprint Race classification.

All drivers that finished behind the Brazilian move up one position each, with Nikola Tsolov now taking the final points position in P8.
