Following the conclusion of the FIA Formula 2 Sprint Race in Monza, two drivers have been handed post-race penalties.

Firstly, Alexander Dunne has been handed a 10-second time penalty for forcing another driver off track.

The Rodin Motorsport driver was alleged to have forced Car 12 of Kush Maini off the circuit at Turn 3 on Lap 2 of the race.

Afterwards, the Stewards heard from both drivers and team representatives of Rodin and DAMS Lucas Oil. They determined that Car 17 was entitled to take whichever line he wanted but could not force another driver off the track in doing so.

Dunne was found to have breached Appendix L Chapter IV, Article 2 (b) of the FIA International Sporting Code. They also considered there were no mitigating factors in the incident and applied the standard 10-second time penalty as a result.

With the penalty applied, Dunne falls to 13th in the final classification.

Finally, Sami Meguetounif has been handed a five-second time penalty for forcing another driver off circuit.

The TRIDENT driver made contact with Car 17 of Dunne at Turn 2, breaching Appendix L Chapter IV, Article 2 (b) of the FIA International Sporting Code.

Following the race, the Stewards reviewed video evidence and heard from both drivers and team representatives and determined that Meguetounif had left the track at Turn 2, lost control when rejoining, collided with Car 17 and caused both cars to go off the circuit.

As a result, the Stewards determined that Car 22 was wholly to blame for the incident and applied a five-second time penalty as a result.

With the TRIDENT driver not classified in the Sprint, his time penalty is converted into a drop of three places on the grid. Meguetounif will serve the penalty at the next race in which he participates.
