Roy Nissany will continue his development on the Road to F1 with a third Free Practice 1 appearance of the year for Williams, at the Bahrain Grand Prix on Friday, November 27.

Williams have also confirmed that both Nissany and fellow Formula 2 driver Jack Aitken will drive for the team at the Young Driver test at the Yas Marina circuit in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday, December 15.

“The Abu Dhabi test is another great opportunity for me to develop my connection with the car,” Nissany elated. “In contrast to an FP1, the test gives us much more time and miles to fine tune and synergise the car and my driving.”

Only drivers who have started fewer than two Grands Prix are eligible for the test and the F2 duo will each enjoy a day of running in the FW43. The test is aimed at providing young drivers with the opportunity of track time in F1 machinery, to continue their development towards a potential race seat in the future.

Both Nissany and Aitken have experience in the current Williams, with Nissany taking part in two FP1, at the Spanish and Italian Grands Prix, while Aitken had a run in the car at the Styrian Grand Prix.

“Of course, I’m delighted to be able to step back into the FW43 in Abu Dhabi,” Aitken said. “After my FP1 outing with the team earlier in the year, I’ll be looking to build upon my experience with the team and get some ever-welcome laps under my belt.

“Although we won’t be able to test too much with the way the programme is set, there are always things to learn, and it will be a great way to finish the season.”
