Roy Nissany has been awarded two grid penalties totaling four places following Round 9’s opening Practice session in Le Castellet.

Firstly, the DAMS driver has received a three-place grid drop for rejoining the track in an unsafe manner. During the session, Nissany went down the escape road at Turn 8 just behind Campos Racing’s Olli Caldwell and passed through the chicane blocks as per the Race Director’s instructions. However, the Stewards found that whilst on the escape road, Nissany passed Caldwell off track and unsafely re-entered the track in the middle of the exit at Turn 9. As a result, Charouz Racing System’s Enzo Fittipaldi, who was approaching at speed, was forced to abort his lap.

Secondly, Nissany has been given a one-place grid drop for hindering Caldwell at Turn 15. Following an extended period of interaction between the two cars through Turns 12 to 15, the DAMS driver made an unnecessary move in front of the Campos and consequently hindered the Briton’s lap.

These penalties will be applied to the next race in which Nissany participates.
