Williams reserve driver Roy Nissany will be unleashed in their FW43 for the second time in Monza, as the Trident racer straps in for Free Practice 1 at the Italian Grand Prix.

The 25-year-old will once again take over George Russell’s car for the session, which will carry the Israel Start-Up Nation on the front wing end plate.

Williams say that the Israeli will be “concentrating on rear wing performance as well as looking at some development items,” after impressive the team in Barcelona.

“After the great session in Barcelona I am really looking forward to driving at Monza,” said Nissany. “This legendary track is one of my favourites, as it is where I had my first single seater win.

“I’m sure it will be emotional, but as always, I will switch on my robot mode to ensure I will be fully focused on completing my job for the team.

“This FP1 session, I will have more experience, greater confidence and I feel even better than before, ahead of jumping in the car.

“Of course, we will do more preparations in the simulator at the factory this week following Spa. I am keen to get in the car and release that clutch lever.”

Nissany made his FP1 debut for Williams in Barcelona, finishing just three tenths off his former Formula 2 rival, Nicholas Latifi.

The Trident racer will take part on the back of his best F2 finish, after he took eighth place in the Feature Race at Spa-Francorchamps.

FP1 will began at 11.00am and finish at 12.30pm, giving Nissany just under half an hour to swap the FW43 for his Trident machine in time for F2 Free Practice at 12.55pm.
