If you’re wondering how Logan Sargeant is spending his summer break away from racing, we wouldn’t be surprised if he’s chilling on a boat and enjoying his time back home in the aptly named Sunshine State.

We caught up with the Carlin rookie to find out more about how he likes to keep busy, one thing he definitely can’t be losing before a race weekend and why the American’s keeping both feet firmly on the ground.

WHERE DID YOU GROW UP?

“I originally grew up in Boca Raton in Florida, which is where I was born. Then I lived between Switzerland and England throughout my European racing career.

“I really enjoy where I come from. I miss it a lot living in London, it's a really fun place. The weather is always amazing. Being from Florida, I’m always on the water – boats, watersports, all that sort of stuff. Obviously, I started racing there as well so it's definitely a good home.”

OUTSIDE OF MOTORSPORT, WHICH SPORTSPERSON DO YOU ADMIRE?

“That’s a tricky one. Currently I'm a big Miami Dolphins fan and they just signed Tyreek Hill and he is an absolute beast, so I'd say I have to go with him.”

HOW DO YOU RELAX AWAY FROM THE TRACK?

“I think the time when I'm able to recharge my batteries the most is when I actually get to go home to Florida and just really relax, get out on the water, not really think about racing at all to be honest. When I’m home it is very non-racing related. Obviously, I get a lot of questions from people I haven't seen in a while, but it's nice for me to sort of disconnect completely.

“But when I am in London, I just like to stay active in the gym. I'm at Williams quite a lot on the simulator as well, just keeping active. I try to try to keep my days busy so I don't get too bored.”

WHAT IS TOP OF YOUR BUCKET LIST?

"I really want to go skydiving, but I would never be brave enough to do it – so that's not going to happen. That's definitely on there, but there's a lot of things I want to do. I don't see myself jumping out of the plane to be honest!”

WHO ARE YOU FRIENDS WITH ON THE GRID?

“I try not to become too friendly with anyone because I feel like at the end of day, you're still very competitive against each other. Someone who I had a pretty good relationship with is Oscar Piastri in F3 and even with Liam Lawson this year. I think I’ve always gotten along with my teammates. You still know that you have to go and compete next weekend so it’s always a tricky one.”

WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE CHEAT MEAL?

“Well, being an American I love a nice burger. It’s got a bit of everything – lettuce, tomato, onions – you name it, it’s good to go – bacon, cheese, anything!”

IF YOU COULD GO BACK TO ANY MOMENT IN HISTORY, WHAT WOULD IT BE AND WHY?

“That’s difficult! Here’s a good one, I’d go back to when the Miami Dolphins won a Super Bowl, which was well before I was born (1973)."

WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE MOVIE OR TV SERIES?

“Favourite movie – Wolf of Wall Street, that is a good one. TV series – there’s so many good ones so that’s a tough, tough, tough one. I’ll go with Peaky Blinders, that was fantastic.”

WHAT WAS THE LAST SONG YOU LISTENED TO?

“Last song I listened to...I need to look in my playlist. Probably a song called First Class by Jack Harlow.”

WHAT IS YOUR DREAM BIRTHDAY CAKE?

“I'm a pretty simple guy, I would just like either a fully chocolate or fully vanilla or a mixture of vanilla-chocolate cake something like that. Triple chocolate is really good - like chocolate cake, chocolate icing and then some chocolate chips – that's pretty solid.”

YOUR FAVOURITE RACING MEMORY?

“Racing in Formula 3 around Macau. That was probably my favourite race I’ve ever taken part in. I loved the track; I loved the adrenaline rush it gave me and it was a good weekend.”

WHAT IS YOUR MOST TREASURED POSSESSION?

"Probably my helmets to be honest, I feel like I’ve got to look after them and can’t be losing any of them! Can’t think of anything more important than them, maybe my passport.”

IF YOU COULD TRAVEL ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD, WHERE WOULD YOU VISIT?

“Right this second, I would go to Bali in Indonesia. I haven’t been there before, but I’ve been wanting to go. During the summer break I’ve got to head home because I don’t get to go home too much but I'll find the gap sometime in the next few years.”
