The 2022 season has come to an end, but Formula 2 is back testing this week at Yas Marina. Ahead of getting back in the car, we asked Dennis Hauger for his thoughts on what was a solid weekend in Abu Dhabi.

Two P4 finishes this weekend lifted Hauger back into the top 10 in the Drivers' Championship to round off his rookie F2 campaign. Miraculously, it was his fourth P4 finish in the past five races and fifth inside the top five in the last three rounds of the year.

The Norwegian is also MP Motorsport-bound, something he is very much looking forward to on the back of the Dutch team’s success this year. So, after an uptick in form and transfer over to the reigning Teams’ Champions, Dennis Hauger says he is very much looking forward to 2023.

ABU DHABI WEEKEND

This weekend, I think I did the most I could add to it. To be honest we didn't really have the pace to fight further forward, I’d say that I maximised our chances so overall, I’m happy with the weekend. I kept it consistent in the Feature Race and scored another good result but that was the maximum. Jehan (Daruvala) struggled as well so I felt like what we accomplished was the most we could’ve got out of it this weekend.

FINDING FORM

I think it's a good sign for next year. In terms of just having a bit of a rhythm but mostly because I was able to maximise the result this weekend. That’s the most important thing and it's going to be interesting to see in the test if things are any different to the race weekend.

MP TITLE SUCCESS

I've announced for MP obviously, so it's a good feeling to know they have done a good job this year. It will be even more interesting to see how the car is and how we can work together in the test to go forward for 2023. So that will be a cool thing in the next few days to be a part of and I’m very excited for it.

FAVOURITE MOMENTS OF 2022

I think my favourite moment of the season would be, just in terms of the feeling driving inside the car as well as everything around it, it would be Monaco. It's just such a historic place, it's such a special thing. Obviously the thing with Monaco is the surroundings around the weekend. It makes it really cool.

Also the Feature Race in Baku as well. That was a cool thing, getting the Feature Race win, the proper one. So I think those two are the main ones from this year. I hope that's there’s more good ones on the way next season.
