Interview
Roman Stanek is eager to put another good result on the board this weekend as he aims to secure Invicta Racing their first victory of the campaign.
The Czech driver finished a season-best fourth in Qualifying last time out in Barcelona, but slipped backwards on Sunday as the team struggled relative to their rivals.
However, they have been hard at work ahead of Round 7 to prepare as much as possible for the upcoming race weekend, with Stanek saying morale and confidence is high arriving in Spielberg.
“I’m feeling good coming into the weekend. I’ll be doing my best as always and also enjoy the moment. I think we have a good package for this weekend, and I’ve prepared quite a lot for this double-header on the simulator, for both the Red Bull Ring and Silverstone.
“We showed our speed in Barcelona, Qualifying in fourth, missing less than a tenth to P2. I think we can do the same here to be honest because I’m feeling strong at the moment.
“In the races, a bit more luck could go our way than in Barcelona and a bit more work from my side – I still need to improve but we’re on a good path.
“I feel very confident, I’m enjoying things, working with the team and things are good at the moment.”
Going into more depth about what it takes to be successful around the Austrian circuit, Stanek says that with the margins so close around the Red Bull Ring circuit, everything has to be nailed.
From tyre preparation to the all-important final lap in Qualifying, to strong race pace and longevity on the tyres, it all adds up and is crucial according to the Invicta driver.

“You need to have good machinery in your hands, be on it and nail the laps in Qualifying in order to extract the best from the car. If the car is fast, you can be up there.
“In the races, it’s just about pace. In F2, it’s very important to have good pace and to get the strategy right, so you kind of need everything. This track is amazing to drive so we’ll be giving it 100%”
After the disappointment of Barcelona, Stanek says he is eager to not only perform well once again in Qualifying but to also carry that form into the race and take points to show for his and the team’s efforts.
Stanek currently has a best finish of fifth so far in 2025, achieving two top five results so far, but wants more.
He says that the level in 2025 is high, and that securing a result is tougher than it’s ever been in the Championship, but that is a motivating factor going into the seventh Round of the campaign.
“I’ve missed out on points and I’m aiming higher. I don’t think my position is where I finished the last two Feature Races in.

I honestly think it’s much higher than F1 because everyone has the same car and there are only very small differences. It’s all about the details and it’s hard to put everything together.
“It’s not impossible, but I’m aiming higher. I’m trying to reach the top and I’ll keep on doing better each time.”
