Following today’s FIA Formula 2 Feature Race at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, the Stewards have decided to penalise Louis Deletraz after it was found that the Charouz Racing System driver had caused a collision with Sean Gelael in the braking zone for Turn 1 which resulted in the early retirement of the Indonesian.
The review of the incident showed Deletraz, who was on the left side of Gelael, although initially moving parallel to the PREMA car, started moving right as the corner approached and initiated contact with Car #3.
Deletraz also retired at a later point, but he was found wholly responsible for the collision and as a consequence was handed a five grid place position penalty for tomorrow’s Sprint Race.
