2018 Round 4 post-qualifying penalties

Following today’s qualifying session at Circuit de Monaco, two drivers were penalised. First, BWT Arden’s Maximilian Günther did not stop to be weighed during the session, having driven past the red light and failed to bring the car back to the FIA weigh station. As the Technical Delegate was unable to check the eligibility of the car during qualifying, the German driver who had set the fourth best laptime of Group A was disqualified from the results, but will be allowed to start the Feature Race from the pit lane.
Moreover, Championship leader Lando Norris was found guilty of impeding Alexander Albon at Turn 14 in the early stages of Group A’s qualifying session. As a consequence, the Carlin driver was given a three-place grid drop. Norris - who had set the ninth-fastest laptime of his group - will now start from 18th in tomorrow’s race.
