Aggressive adjustments to a classic look: Noel León on his 2026 helmet design

Noel León switched to Campos Racing for the 2026 season and his rookie campaign in FIA Formula 2. What hasn't changed though is the Mexican driver's colour scheme on his helmet, but there are a number of new details.

He takes us through his design for this season, the thought process behind it and what he'd do with a special design that might appear in the future.

"I decided to have a white one. One of my favourite colours is red, so it's a good combination of white and red to be honest. Also for the car design, a little bit of black as well so it goes well with the Campos car.

"I have all my sponsors, which is pretty cool to be honest, they are in a nice position and all look very good. This year I added the logo of the team in the background, which is quite important. And then I have my logo on the back, it's always been on the back. It looks really cool to be honest. I really like this design, it's a cool one.

"I look pretty cool with the suit and with the car to be honest, I really love it. Mad56, he's the painter, he did an amazing job to be honest, thanks to Mad for the work.

"It's an Arai helmet, I've used Arai for the majority of my career since I was a kid in karting. This year I came back to Arai, and they've always been good to me. The support has always been very good, so I'm really thankful to them for the support. It was an important year for me, for my career. It's always nice to be with the guys that support you from the beginning.

"I think the front looks pretty aggressive, pretty good. I like how the logos of my sponsor look on it. We designed it so we could have each logo on this part and to look right.

With this combination of colours, I really like how it looks from the front, it looks a bit aggressive and I like that. Always good when you're chasing someone down, they look back and they are scared.

"If I did a special helmet design, I would like to put a lot of photos of my journey to get where I am now since I was in karting, when I did my first podium, when I did my first victory in Europe. All these kind of moments, I will do that one at some point.

"Last year I did a pretty cool design, having the Azteca logos in the background of the helmet. This year not so much. I would like to have it again on my next helmet, because I think that's a pretty cool thing.

"It's my country, I love to represent my country and I love to have them on my side and with me."
