Alfa Romeo duo to take part in F1 tests

Tatiana Calderón and Juan Manuel Correa will spend part of their summer break at the wheel of Formula 1 machinery, as part of their roles in the Alfa Romeo F1 squad. Test driver Calderón and development driver Correa will take part in a test session at the Circuit Paul Ricard on August 23 and 24.

The highly rated duo will step into the cockpit of a 2013-spec C32, powered by a V8 engine, as part of a development programme set out by Alfa Romeo Racing.

Sauber Junior Team by Charouz racer Correa will be making his debut appearance in an F1 machine, while BWT Arden driver Calderon, will be making her third test appearance in an Alfa Romeo in the past 12 months.

The Colombian racer teased some exciting summer plans in her recent Guest Column and alongside Correa, will gain further valuable experience on their road to F1.

Discussing the opportunity, Calderón elated: “I’m really thankful to Alfa Romeo Racing for giving me another opportunity to drive a Formula One car, following my previous two runs last year. I’m very happy to be able to work with the team on the track once again and continue to learn and develop further as a driver. I look forward to making the most from this new experience.”

Juan Manuel Correa added: “Driving a Formula One car is something I have dreamt about since I was seven years old, so I am extremely excited to finally be in the cockpit. I am looking forward to learning as much as possible from this experience. Thank you to Alfa Romeo Racing for this opportunity.”
