All the Formula 2 stars from the past and the present taking part at the Hungarian GP FP1

In the final race weekend before the summer break, a handful of Formula 2 alumni and one current star will be taking part in Free Practice 1 at the Hungarian Grand Prix.

So to keep you up to date, we have put together a list of who you can expect to see driving a Formula 1 car later today.

Firstly, Colton Herta will jump straight out of his Hitech car at the end of F2 Free Practice this morning and head straight to the F1 paddock as he will driving for Cadillac.

The American will be taking over Valtteri Bottas’ MAC-26 for his second FP1 outing of the season following his exploits in Barcelona.

2025 Formula 2 champion Leonardo Fornaroli is back in an F1 car again this weekend for McLaren, having also driven at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya last month.

The Italian replaces another F2 champion Oscar Piastri.

Next up is Paul Aron, who will be driving for Alpine in the opening practice session, with Franco Colapinto making way for the Estonian.

Lastly, Frederik Vesti is back in the car for Mercedes this weekend, replacing Formula 2 alumni and championship leader Andrea Kimi Antonelli for the session
