León disqualified, Beganovic penalised following Spa-Francorchamps Feature Race

Following the conclusion of the FIA Formula 2 Feature Race at Spa-Francorchamps, Noel León has been disqualified while Dino Beganovic has been penalised.

Firstly, Noel León has been disqualified from the Feature Race results.

During the race, it was alleged that a non-operational person was using a headset with a microphone fitted in the pitlane during the Red Flag period, contravening Article 21.5 and Appendix 5 of the FIA F2 Sporting Regulations.

After the race, the Stewards spoke to both Nikola Tsolov, with León having left the track, and a Campos Racing team representative.

The Team representative explained that the person concerned was a team guest who had inadvertently taken the wrong type of headset.

The Stewards view is that the team remains responsible for ensuring the radio equipment provided to Non-Operational Personnel and team guests complies with the applicable requirements.

As it was established that the guest was associated exclusively with Car 5, the Stewards determined that the disqualification should only apply to León.

In addition to that, the Stewards have also withdrawn 25 championship points from Campos Racing. This deduction is suspended subject to there being no further breaches of the article of the 2026 FIA F2 Sporting Regulations at any FIA F2 events during the remainder of the 2026 season.

Lastly, Beganovic has been given a five-second time penalty for moving prior to the start.

The Stewards examined video evidence and telemetry data, and after considering the matter extensively found the driver of Car 7 spun his tyres and moved considerably after the third light and before the start signal was given.

They also noted that the DAMS Lucas Oil driver stalled and was pushed into the pitlane before retiring from the Feature Race.

As a result, the elected to hand Beganovic the least of the penalties available to them which is a five-second time penalty.
