LN4 Fusion announces intention to enter FIA Formula 2 Championship in 2027

LN4 Fusion has confirmed its intention to enter the team application process with a view to entry in the FIA Formula 2 Championship in 2027.

The team is co-founded by 2025 Formula 1 World Champion Lando Norris and today confirmed that it acquired selected assets of AIX Racing. It will also undertake application procedures to join the F2 grid next season.

LN4 Fusion also confirmed that Rene Rosin will serve as Team Principal, with Guillaume Capietto serving as Racing Director for the team’s wider operation.

Norris detailed the plans currently in the works along with a driver development programme, having come through FIA Formula 2 himself en route to F1 and winning the World Championship last year.

Co-founder Norris said: “I’ve been really lucky to have some amazing people around me throughout my career, and I know that getting to Formula 1 takes so much more than just talent. You need the right people around you, the right support and the right opportunities at the right time.

“That’s what these two projects are all about. LN4 Fusion is about building a race team that can compete with the best in junior motorsport, with great people and a great environment for drivers to develop. The LN4 Legacy Programme is about helping talented young drivers get opportunities they might not otherwise have.

“For me, they naturally fit together. I want to help create opportunities for the next generation, both on and off the track, and hopefully make a real difference to young drivers coming through the sport.”

FIA Formula 2 CEO Bruno Michel commented: “I’m very pleased to see that Lando Norris, who is the first F2 graduate to have become a Formula 1 World Champion, is showing interest in getting involved in an F2 team. LN4 Fusion has taken over AIX Racing and will be applying for an entry for the next three-year cycle of Formula 2, which will run from 2027 until 2029.”

Team Principal Rosin added: "Motorsport has always been my passion and my professional life. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to contribute my experience to an independent, vision-driven sporting programme with strong backing, a clear long-term vision and the resources required to build it properly. Having Lando on board adds a further dimension to this project. He has come through the junior single-seater ranks and understands its demands. His involvement will make a real difference to the team.
