Montoya penalised following Monza Feature Race

Following the conclusion of the FIA Formula 2 Monza Feature Race, Sebastian Montoya has received a time penalty.

The PREMA Racing driver was alleged to have caused a collision with Car 4 of Colton Herta on the approach to Turn 8.

After the race, the Stewards heard from both of the drivers involved along with team representatives and examined video evidence.

They determined that Car 11 had been wholly responsible for the contact as a result of a reactionary move rather than a defensive one. Consequently, the Stewards elected to apply a 10-second time penalty to the Colombian.

With the application of the time penalty, Montoya now finishes P18 in the final classification.
