Nikola Tsolov handed grid penalty for Baku Feature Race 2

Following the conclusion of the FIA Formula 2 Feature Race in Baku, Nikola Tsolov has been handed a grid penalty.

During the race, Tsolov was adjujed to have crossed over the white line separating the pitlane from the trck in violation of ISC Apex L Ch IV 4(d).

The Stewards examined video evidence and found that Tsolov crossed the pit entry line with his right wheels by about one meter, and as such chose the lesser of the penalties in the guidelines, which is five seconds.

But with the driver of Car 6 having retired from the race, his penalty went unserved, and it has therefore been converted into a grid drop of three places for Feature Race 2.

Tsolov is now set to start Saturday’s race from P11.
