Oliver Bearman wins Pirelli Highlight of the Year Award

In what may well have been a career-altering weekend, Oliver Bearman has been recognised for his efforts across the Jeddah race weekend with the Pirelli Highlight of the Year Award.

The PREMA Racing driver firstly claimed a superb Pole Position for the Formula 2 Feature Race, one he’d ultimately have to vacate though with good reason.

Called up to deputise for Carlos Sainz, Bearman made his Formula 1 debut for Scuderia Ferrari, becoming the youngest driver in the team’s illustrious history.

While he was relatively inexperienced compared to the rest of the F1 grid, he gave a great account of himself, only narrowly missing out on a berth in Q3, before going on to secure points on debut on Sunday in the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix.

Finishing P7 around one of the toughest venues on the racing calendar, Bearman said he was hugely proud of the race weekend and called it “a highlight of his life” as he accepted the Pirelli Award.

“I’m very happy to win the award. That weekend was a big highlight in my life and my career so far. To make my debut with Ferrari – I’m very proud of this moment and very happy to be recognised by Pirelli and I have to say a huge thank you to them for giving me this award.”

Pirelli’s Isola added that it was a hugely impressive weekend from the 2025 Haas F1-bound driver.

“I think Oliver will never forget the weekend in Jeddah. Taking pole position in Formula 2 on Friday and finding himself involved in a qualifying session the next day, this time in Formula 1, doesn't happen every weekend! What was even more impressive was the level of maturity he showed sitting in the cockpit of a car he had never driven before, moreover a Ferrari, with all the pressure that entails. Ollie completed his task not only without making the slightest mistake, but also by bringing home a result of far greater value than simply placing in the final classification.”
