Piastri denies news of 2023 F1 promotion with Alpine

Oscar Piastri has rejected news that he will be making the step up to Formula 1 with Alpine, after the French team announced he would be driving for them in 2023.
Having been affilated with Alpine through their Driver Academy and serving as their reserve driver this season, they released a statement saying that the Australian driver would be promoted to a full-time seat alongside Esteban Ocon for next season.
However, the reigning FIA Formula 2 Champion took to social media to announce that: "I understand that, without my agreement, Alpine F1 have put out a press release late this afternoon that I am driving for them next year," he wrote.
"This is wrong and I have not signed a contract with Alpine for 2023. I will not be driving for Alpine next year."
