Raghunathan given penalty post-practice

Mahaveer Raghunathan has been penalised after this morning’s Free Practice session and will now start Saturday’s Feature Race at Yas Marina from the pit lane.
After the session, which was brought to a premature halt as marshals recovered Matevos Isaakyan’s car following his off, the MP Motorsport driver did not correctly follow the practice start procedure.
The Indian racer carried out a practice start even though two cars were ahead of him on the grid, and as a result the stewards were forced to hand him a penalty.
Raghunathan completed 12 laps in practice, with a best laptime of 1:55.210.
