Several drivers given permission to start both races in Madrid

Following the conclusion of the FIA Formula 2 Qualifying session in Madrid, several drivers have lost their fastest laptimes and received permission to start both the Sprint and Feature Races in Madrid.

Firstly, Nico Varrone has lost his fastest time from Qualifying. The Van Amersfoort Racing driver was determined by the Stewards to have been the sole cause of the second Red Flag, a breach of Article 33.5 of the FIA Formula 2 Sporting Regulations.

With the deletion of his fastest time, was left without a time within 107%. In accordance with Article 34.2 of the FIA Formula 2 Sporting Regulations, the VAR driver has been given permission to start both races from the back of the grid.

The Van Amersfoort driver is set to start the Sprint from 19th.

Secondly, Kush Maini has lost his quickest time from the session after being the sole cause of the first Red Flag, breaching Article 33.5 of the FIA Formula 2 Sporting Regulations.

As a result, the Indian driver was left without a laptime within 107%. In accordance with Article 34.2 of the FIA Formula 2 Sporting Regulations, the ART Grand Prix driver has been given permission to start both the Sprint and Feature Races from the back of the grid.

The ART driver is set to start the Sprint from 20th on the grid.

Thirdly, Sebastiàn Montoya has been given permission to start both races in Madrid.

The PREMA Racing driver failed to set a time within 107%, however, as per Article 34.2 of the Sporting Regulations, has been permitted to start from the back of the grid.

Montoya is set to start the Sprint Race in Madrid from P21.

Finally, Tasanapol Inthraphuvasak has been given permission to start both races in Madrid.

The ART driver did not take part in Qualifying and subsequently had no time within 107%. As per Article 34.2, the Thai driver has been permitted to start both races from the back of the grid.

Inthraphuvasak is set to start from P22 on the Sprint Race grid.
