Van Hoepen and Maini penalised following Baku Sprint Race

Following the conclusion of the FIA Formula 2 Sprint Race in Baku, two drivers have received post-session penalties.
Firstly, Laurens van Hoepen has been handed a time penalty.
The TRIDENT driver was alleged to have caused a collision with Cars 15 and 4 at Turn 2 on the opening lap of the race.
Following the Sprint, the Stewards heard from van Hoepen, Ritomo Miyata and Arvid Lindblad along with their team representatives and examined available video evidence.
They concluded that Car 22 had been wholly at fault for the collision. As a result, they applied a 10-second time penalty to the Dutch driver.
With the application of his penalty, van Hoepen remains P17 in the classification.
Finally, Kush Maini has been handed a time penalty. The DAMS Lucas Oil driver made contact with Car 16, Rodin Motorsport’s Amaury Cordeel at Turn 2.
After the race, the Stewards heard from both of the drivers involved and their respective team representatives and examined available video evidence.
They determined that Car 12 had misjudged the braking zone and hit the back of Car 16. Due to the low speeds of the cars at the point of collision, the Stewards deemed it a mitigating factor and assigned the lesser penalty of five-seconds.
Due to Maini not being classified in the Sprint Race, his time penalty is converted into a grid drop of three places for the Baku Feature Race.
