Verschoor and Boschung penalised following Monza Sprint Race

Two drivers have received penalties following the conclusion of Round 13 Sprint Race at Monza.
Richard Verschoor has been given a five-second time penalty for going off track and gaining a lasting advantage. Having passed Ayumu Iwasa heading into Turn 1, the Trident driver missed the corner and cut across Turn 2’s run off area. He subsequently kept the place ahead of the DAMS driver. As a result of his post-race penalty, Verschoor drops down from P5 to P8 in the final classification, promoting Liam Lawson, Jack Doohan and David Beckmann to fifth, sixth and seventh respectively.
Ralph Boschung has been handed a five-place grid drop for tomorrow’s Feature Race for causing a collision with Clément Novalak. The pair approached Turn 4 side by side, with Boschung on the inside and Novalak on the outside already to the track’s edge. The Campos Racing driver then moved to the outside and made contact with the MP Motorsport car, causing damage for both and the pair were forced to retire from the race. The Stewards determined that the Swiss driver was wholly responsible for the collision. Boschung was originally set to start from 13th on the grid, but will now line up in 18th.
