Guanyu Zhou

From Shanghai to Sheffield, and from Ferrari to Alpine, there have already been many twists and turns in the fledging career of Guanyu Zhou, who is quickly forging a name for himself, as a young racer from a country with a rapidly growing passion for motorsport.

The Alpine junior was gripped by F1 at an early age, after attending his country’s first ever Grand Prix in Shanghai. 15 years on and he was driving there, performing a test run for Renault at his home event.

China is yet to have its own F1 star, but Zhou is hoping to buck the trend and going by his career so far, he is well placed to do so, having finished 2019 as F2’s leading rookie.

2020 was solid if unspectacular - with one win and six podiums – and Zhou enters his third season of F2 knowing that he needs to at least challenge for the title if he is to make his F1 dream a reality.
