Unlike 2019 F3 teammates Robert Shwartzman and Marcus Armstrong, Jehan Daruvala didn’t come up through the ranks at PREMA Racing and into F3, but he did stand out to them when they were looking at their options for 2019, as they drafted him in as part of their project.
He repaid their faith in him tenfold, winning two of the opening four races and quickly establishing himself as a title challenger.
He eventually faltered to the dominant Shwartzman in the title fight, finishing third, but he’d more than earned a shot at F2, while also being recruited by the Red Bull Driver Academy.
The Indian took a few rounds to settle into his new surroundings, taking three points finishes from the opening seven rounds, but something clicked in Monza and never looked back. Scoring eight points finishes from the final five rounds, Daruvala finished the season in style, clinching the final race win of 2020.
He’ll be looking to pick up from where he left off.
