Frederik Vesti

BIOGRAPHY

Spent three years convincing the Mercedes Driver Academy to sign him and rewarded them with a title challenge in Formula 3, finishing fourth with ART Grand Prix. Earning promotion with the French team, Vesti is the first Mercedes junior to compete in Formula 2 since George Russell in 2018.

Making his single-seater debut in Formula Ford Denmark in 2016, Vesti finished as Danish F4 vice-champion the following season. The 20-year-old’s breakthrough season came back in 2019, when he won the Formula Regional European title with a remarkable 20 podiums from 24 races, including 13 wins.

Was recruited by the Mercedes’ young driver programme ahead of the 2021 campaign, after finishing his rookie season of F3 with PREMA in fourth. Switching to ART, Vesti won once and took a further four podiums.
