Would You Rather with Jak Crawford

DAMS' Jak Crawford became the latest driver to try his hand at answering some of our tough Would You Rather questions back at the 2023 season finale in Abu Dhabi.

The American racer was deep in thought when asked to decide whether he would rather be too hot or too cold, while also revealing his surprise go to karaoke song.

WEIGHTS OR CARDIO?

"I would rather do cardio because you can do it in a shorter amount of time. You could run a fast 5km in 22, 23 minutes but a strength session takes about an hour more, so more time efficient."

HOME OR MONACO GRAND PRIX WIN?

"Good question. I think I would rather win a home race. If we had one at the Austin GP in F2, that would be perfect. Monaco is definitely up there for sure, it’s P2."

UNDERSTEER OR OVERSTEER?

"Oversteer is better. The quickest way in a race car. Understeer isn't fast. What do they say? Loose is faster."

GIVE UP YOUR FAVOURITE MEAL FOR A YEAR OR EAT IT EVERY DAY FOR ONE YEAR?

"Everyday. I'd eat it everyday. I'd eat steak every single day for the rest of my life. Steak frites, perfect."

HANDS FOR FEET OR FEET FOR HANDS?

"Hands for feet. I would rather hands where my feet are because I feel like hands are the most important thing."

FIRST TO ARRIVE OR LAST TO ARRIVE?

"Depends. Either I'm really early or really late, there is no in between."

TOO HOT OR TOO COLD?

"I'd rather be too cold. I just feel like if you're too hot it's really bad. But also, if you're too cold it can be really bad. But I just feel like if you're cold there are actually some things you can do to warmup, but if you are too hot, you don't stand a chance."

RACE SUIT THAT’S TOO BIG OR TOO SMALL?

"Definitely too big. I'd rather have a race suit too big. Too tight, it hurts, it's painful. You can’t even more your arms up and down, it’s terrible. If it’s too big you might have stuff flying around, your suit might be flopping everywhere in the cockpit but at least it won’t affect your driving."

ROCK OR HIP HOP?

"Hip Hop, definitely. I feel like rock was before my time. I haven't heard rock music for a very long time. Like new rock music."

KARAOKE OR DANCE OFF?

"Karaoke. I feel like I can be a very good singer sometimes and I don't feel like I'm very good at dancing. I really like good karaoke songs like Firework by Katy Perry. That's a good karaoke song."

WIN THE INDY 500 OR THE 24 HOURS OF LE MANS?

"I would rather win the Indy 500. I just feel like it's actually even a bit harder to win just because it’s a bit more of a lottery than Le Mans. It’s very specific and it actually is a very difficult race for the drivers."

TELEPORTATION OR ABILITY TO READ PEOPLE’S MINDS?

"Teleport. Teleportation is the best superpower anyone can ever have. I’d teleport back to my bed so I can sleep in my own bed and then teleport back here for Free Practice."

OPTION PRIME OR PRIME OPTION?

"Prime option is the most fun for everyone just because you get to be on the slower tyre all race and at the very end you get to stick on a nice set of soft tyres and pump out quick laps and overtake everyone at the end of the race, it's quite fun."

SHOEY OUT OF YOUR TEAMMATE’S SHOE OR YOUR BOSS’ SHOE?

"Probably teammate. I don’t know why. I just feel like a team boss wears their shoes more often than a driver. Still, both are equally disgusting."

LATE-BRAKING DIVE DOWN THE INSIDE OR SWEEP ALL THE WAY AROUND THE OUTSIDE?

"Round the outside. It's cooler. There's been a couple this year, none that were shown but there was in Zandvoort this year, actually on my teammate, he was on an out lap on cold tyres, and I drove round his outside at the fast right hander, but no one saw it except for me and him."

WIN FROM POLE OR LAST?

"Win from pole is the best. Dominating the whole race and qualifying pole in itself is awesome."
