Rodin Motorsport are aiming for better in 2026, after a season where they felt that their results did not show their full potential, with driver Alexander Dunne already stating that the title is the goal.

2025 started with a bang for the team, with the Irishman winning two of the first three Feature Races in Sakhir and Imola, but for different reasons, they fell short in both Championships.

Rodin finished seventh in the Teams’ Standings, while Dunne ended up fifth, but with a new season on the horizon, and Martinius Stenshorne joining, there is a lot of promise for the upcoming campaign.

TRYING TO KEEP EVERYTHING CONSISTENT

Rodin scored 155 points last year, and when he assessed their season, Sporting Director Benn Huntingford felt it was a mixed campaign.

Huntingford was delighted with the pace his team and Dunne showed throughout the season, but looked to penalties and other incidents that cost them multiple points.

Rodin, particularly in the hands of Dunne, were constantly at the front of the field, qualifying in the top 10 in every round bar the final one in Abu Dhabi.

So the one lap performance is there, but Dunne mentioned several times during the season that he felt like their race pace was even better, and he showed that by achieving all eight of their podiums.

That tally was second only behind Champion Leonardo Fornaroli and Luke Browning, who wound up fourth in the Standings.

So on the surface the results were good, but for 2026 they will want to make sure that those penalties and incidents which cost them points don’t happen.

In addition to that, they will want both drivers scoring points consistently, and with Stenshorne joining the team, Huntingford says the Norwegian is already pushing Dunne close in testing.

A FRIENDLY DUO

Stenshorne and Dunne are very good friends, bringing a positive atmosphere to the team, but better for Rodin is that they are also fast drivers.

2026 will be Stenshorne’s first full campaign in F2 after he took part in the final three rounds of last season.

The 19-year-old impressed on debut in Baku, qualifying and running in the top 10, only for different incidents to knock him out of both races. But he did score points in the Lusail Sprint in his debut for Rodin.

At post-season testing, Stenshorne was already at or near the top of the timesheets, and consistently close to his more experienced teammate.

That would not have been a surprise to Rodin, with Stenshorne having good racing pedigree, coming of a season where he finished fifth in the FIA Formula 3 Drivers' Championship.

The Norwegian has already stated that he is aiming to win the title this year, but he knows he has work to do before Round 1 in Melbourne. His teammate, Dunne, also shares that same ambition.

The Irish driver was impressive in his rookie season, as while he could only describe 2025 as a “okay”, a top five finish in the Formula 2 Standings is a strong effort.

But Dunne knows that there were points left on the table, as while he won the Feature Races in Sakhir and Imola, he missed out on wins in Spa, and potential podiums in Spielberg, Monza, and Baku due to various incidents.

If Dunne is going to take that leap to become Champion, he will not want to leave points on the table, and that will be key for him, Stenshorne and Rodin if they are to climb up the Standings this year.
