Several Formula 2 drivers both current and former are set to take part in the final FP1 session of the 2024 Formula 1 season at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix this weekend.

With a few changes up and down the grid, the majority of the Formula 1 teams will be running a young driver in the opening session.

Here’s a run down of who you can expect to see in Free Practice 1 this weekend in Abu Dhabi.

While he will be fighting for the F2 Drivers' Title this weekend, Isack Hadjar is also at the wheel of the Red Bull RB20. It will mark Hadjar’s second time driving for the team after his first opportunity earlier in the season around Silverstone at the British Grand Prix.

Luke Browning will be getting his Formula 1 race weekend debut with Williams. As part of the team’s Driver Academy, the Briton will be getting behind the wheel of the FW46 around Yas Marina on Friday as well as taking part in the post-season Young Driver test.

2022 F2 Champion Felipe Drugovich will be back in the cockpit for Aston Martin, taking part in his second Free Practice 1 session of the 2024 campaign. The Brazilian will be driving in place of Lance Stroll in the opening hour of Practice to kick off the Grand Prix weekend. He too will be taking part in the post-season test for the team also.

In a first for Formula 1, brothers will be teammates, as Charles is set to be partnered at Ferrari by former Formula 2 charger and younger brother Arthur for the opening Practice session of the weekend.

The Monegasque is not the only F2 alumni in action either, with 2023 DAMS teammate Ayumu Iwasa taking over driving duties at RB.
