Following the season finale in Abu Dhabi, Formula 2 Champions Felipe Drugovich, Oscar Piastri and Nyck de Vries were amongst a host of drivers taking part in the Formula 1 post-season Young Driver Test – including six stars of the 2022 season.

After securing the Super Licence points needed to earn his F1 promotion, top rookie Logan Sargeant was in action for Williams once more. Having previously made four FP1 appearances for them this year, the American driver put 82 laps on the board.

Fellow 2023 graduates Piastri and de Vries were also kept busy. In his first appearance as a McLaren driver, Piastri clocked 123 laps behind the wheel of the MCL36.

Meanwhile, 2019 Champion de Vries climbed into the cockpit of AlphaTauri’s AT03 ahead of his debut with the team and finished the day with the most mileage of anyone with 151 laps to his name.

It was a huge day for Frederik Vesti, as the Mercedes junior got to grips with F1 machinery for the first time. Putting in 124 laps, the Dane’s thoughts now turn to F2’s post-season test on Wednesday, as he switches from ART Grand Prix to PREMA Racing in preparation for his second campaign.

Off the back of his FP1 debut with Aston Martin on Friday, Drugovich got further running alongside Red Bull reserve driver Liam Lawson, Alpine junior Jack Doohan and Sauber Academy driver Théo Pourchaire, who featured for Alfa Romeo – with all four drivers breaking the 100-lap barrier.

Additionally, Doohan and Pourchaire will also be participating in all three days of the F2 post-season test, driving for Virtuosi Racing and ART, respectively.

Finally, down at Ferrari, 2021 Vice Champion Robert Shwartzman put in 116 laps for the Prancing Horse, taking the third fastest time of the day with a 1:25.400.
