Following the Spielberg Feature Race, Rodin Motorsport driver Alexander Dunne has been disqualified.
After the race, Car 17 was referred to the Stewards by the Technical Delegate for an alleged breach of the FIA Formula 2 Technical Regulations, specifically excessive front plank wear, with a maximum thickness of 3.37mm and 3.27mm at the periphery of two of the designated holes.
The Stewards heard from the driver and team representative, and it was determined that there was no explanation as to why the plank fell below the minimum required thickness of 4mm, constituting a breach of Article 3.2.2 of the FIA Formula 2 Technical Regulations.
As a result of the disqualification, all cars that finished behind Dunne in the Feature Race move up one position each.
Finally, Van Amersfoort Racing driver John Bennett has been given a post-race time penalty.
The Briton made contact with Car 9 of Sebastián Montoya at Turn 3 during the race, and afterwards the Stewards heard from both drivers along with their team representatives, and examined available video evidence.
They determined that Car 24 was predominantly to blame for the collision, and as a result, imposed a 10-second time penalty.
With his penalty applied, Bennett falls from 13th to 14th in the final classification.
