Haas F1 Team have confirmed that Oliver Bearman will serve as one of the team’s reserve drivers for the upcoming 2024 season. The PREMA Racing driver will also take part in six Free Practice sessions for the American team during the Formula 1 season.

Last year, Bearman made his F1 race weekend debut with Haas, driving in the First Practice session at the Mexico City Grand Prix before returning for a second FP1 outing at the season-ending Abu Dhabi GP.

The 18-year-old also drove for Haas in the post-season test around the Abu Dhabi venue, logging plenty of mileage at the wheel of the VF-23.

Bearman will be appearing at the Emilia Romagna, Spanish, British, Hungarian, Mexico City and Abu Dhabi Grands Prix across 2024 for Haas.

Reflecting on the upcoming work with Haas, Bearman said he was excited to continue building on what he learned last season with the team.

“I’m really happy to be part of MoneyGram Haas F1 Team for the upcoming season. I had a great experience last year working with everyone at the team and I’m looking forward to building on that this year.

“There are several events I’ll be doing FP1’s at – alongside the reserve duties, which is exciting. I’m grateful to Haas F1 Team and Scuderia Ferrari for their faith and for supporting me.”

“I’m happy and proud to be going into my sixth season with MoneyGram Haas F1 Team,” stated Pietro Fittipaldi. “I’m looking forward to continuing our work in development and supporting the team in the best way I can throughout the 2024 FIA Formula 1 World Championship.”

Team Principal Ayao Komatsu added that Bearman’s appearances last year had impressed the team and that his work this year would continue to be very beneficial.

“Oliver did a tremendous job for us last season settling in well and working through both his FP1 run programs in Mexico and Abu Dhabi and then with his test program. We’re looking forward to giving him the opportunity for more outings in FP1 in 2024 – with testing at a premium this is key running time, both for us to evaluate Oliver’s progress but also to enable him seat time in a Formula 1 car.”

Last week, Bearman was also confirmed by Ferrari as taking up Reserve Driver duties for the Scuderia in 2024, alongside taking part in a Pirelli tyre test with the team.
