Interview
Hitech TGR were looking at a tough couple of races after Qualifying left Dino Beganovic eighth and home hero Luke Browning down in 12th for the Silverstone weekend.
But the British outfit was able to transform their fortunes on Sunday, as both drivers carved their way through the pack amidst the spray following a deluge of rain in the morning.
After a few tough results in recent weeks for both drivers, Team Manager Clive Hatton said that it had been a hugely positive result for Hitech, with both cars securing points and confidence from their results.
Beganovic improved to fourth, while Browning was able to reach the podium as he flew through the pack. The Williams Racing Development Driver made assured moves on the inside, outside and wherever else versus rivals, such was his confidence levels in the Feature Race.
“It was a very, very good day and made up for Qualifying. Both drivers have been on the pace since Free Practice, especially Luke. He was right up there from his second run and Qualifying didn’t quite go his way, the grip just wasn’t there.
“But I think he showed even yesterday. He was quite quick in the race and was pretty aggressive. The tyres held on and again today, he made his way through the field, and Dino followed. Thankfully they sorted it out between themselves and stayed out of trouble.”
Hatton expanded on the turnaround for Browning in particular, after the Briton was left hugely disappointed by the result on Friday that meant he started both races outside of the top 10 at Silverstone.

He ended up where he finished in Saturday’s Sprint Race, but would not be denied on Sunday for the Feature.
His overtake into Copse on MP Motorsport’s Richard Verschoor when the track was thoroughly saturated was one of the moves of the season to this point.
Overtakes at Luffield, Stowe and Vale throughout the race proved just how much he was pushing. Had the race run longer, Hatton isn’t sure where he could have ended up, but was hugely impressed by the showing on Sunday.
“It was a big disappointment on Friday, for Luke especially. He was really gunning for Pole at his home race, but sometimes these things don’t work out. But we knew we had pace.
“I’m not sure he’d have been able to get there (to first), but he was determined in the races to show everyone what he was made of. I think he’s done a lot of wet laps around Silverstone, so he knew where to place the car. And he was quite confident by that stage.”
