Interview
Campos Racing has finalised its line-up early for next season, and Noel León is thrilled to be joining the Spanish outfit as he makes the step up to FIA Formula 2 in 2026.
The 20-year-old will be partnering Nikola Tsolov in an all-rookie line-up for next year as they look to fight for the Teams’ and Drivers’ Championships once again.
León said that it was a huge opportunity to be joining them, and he was already feeling at home with his 2026 team.
“I’m super excited to be joining Campos. I want to thank all of the team, every team member and Adrian Campos Jr for the opportunity and putting their confidence in me for the seat and to fight for the title next year.
“I’m super happy. It’s a team that have made me feel at home already. It’s like a family, so I’m really happy to be with these people for a really important year for myself.
“Campos has been very, very competitive in the last few years and I’m really looking forward to starting work with them and learning as much as I possibly can ahead of next year.”
León’s confirmation came back in October, making him the fifth driver to be confirmed for the 2026 season.
It’s something that has a competitive benefit as it allowed him to switch his full attentions to preparing for his rookie campaign.
“It’s good to be confirmed as early as possible, especially because it’s such a great environment. All of the team have the same goals as you and I’m really happy the announcement came early.
“Now we don’t need to be thinking about that and putting energy into it, it’s just about getting our heads down and doing as much work as we can to prepare for next season.”
Speaking of preparations for next season, León says he will be leaving no stone unturned out of the car, as he’s set to shadow the team across the final two rounds of the 2025 season in Lusail and Yas Marina.

The Mexican driver emphasised how important it is to get used to how the team is working behind the scenes in debriefs and how the drivers operate out of the car too.
Afterwards, it’ll be focus on post-season testing following on from the season finale, and a first opportunity to get behind the wheel of the F2 car.
“I’ll be in Qatar and Abu Dhabi with the team, learning as much as I can. It’s always good to be learning from others and listening in, looking on and I’m excited to see how it goes.
“I’m really looking forward to testing in Abu Dhabi at the end of the year. I’m already in the factory with them, learning all the procedures, studying what you need to do with an F2 car and getting used to setups in the simulator, things like that.
“I’m also doing my preparation on the side but from the very first day, they’ve made me feel at home and I’m very grateful for the opportunity and warm welcome.”
His F3 season did not pan out how he’d hoped, but León did cap off the season with a P3 finish in the Monza Feature Race, a result that he says has allowed him to close the chapter with some satisfaction.

Another element that has him excited is the prospect of new circuits to learn, with a high-speed challenge in particular standing out to him at this stage.
“It was important to finish as strong as possible. To finish with a podium helps me a lot, helps me to finish one chapter and move onto the next page of the chapter. After the season we had, it was the best way to finish and now it’s focus onto the next one.
“For next year, I’m really looking forward to Jeddah. I think it’s a great track and it’s going to be one of the first times I’ll get to race at night. So I’m really looking forward to that one in particular.”
