Would you Rather with Rafael Villagómez

Driving for Van Amersfoort Racing having graduated from the Dutch team’s F3 outfit, Formula 2 rookie Rafael Villagómez has been getting up to speed with life in F2 quickly so far.

We threw a curveball at him though, posing some serious questions for the Mexican driver to ponder over during the break in action. From cheat meals, home races and karaoke exploits, here’s how he got on.

WEIGHTS OR CARDIO?

“HIIT so then you do both! Nah I’d pick cardio. It used to be my main training method but I alternate now, it’s better quality.”

HOME OR MONACO GRAND PRIX WIN?

“Home race. It would be incredible.”

UNDERSTEER OR OVERSTEER?

“Oversteer, it’s much quicker. It’s also more scary.”

GIVE UP YOUR FAVOURITE MEAL FOR A YEAR OR EAT IT EVERY DAY FOR ONE YEAR?

“I’d give it up, because then you have more options. The meal I’d give up is a burger. I’ve already given them up! I have to give them up to stay fit.”

HANDS FOR FEET OT FEET FOR HANDS?

“Hands for feet. I can do more, you’d look strange otherwise. You can just put some shoes on and no one would know. If you go on all fours, you’d be ok, but it would be weird.”

FIRST TO ARRIVE OR LAST TO ARRIVE?

“It depends on the day. Most of the time first but sometimes I can be a bit late.”

RACE SUIT THAT’S TOO BIG OR TOO SMALL?

“You have to look good at all times, so too big. Like the stock car drivers, with the wide leg design. That’s what I’d do.”

ROCK OR HIP HOP?

“Hip hop. I’m not a rock fan. I prefer house though.”

WIN THE INDY 500 OR THE 24 HOURS OF LE MANS?

“Le Mans I think. I’ve been there twice but I’ve never been to the Indy 500, so I imagine it’s quite special but I’ve been to Le Mans two times and it was incredible. Last year it was Ferrari winning, and it was amazing. So I’d say Le Mans.”

KARAOKE OR DANCE OFF?

“Karaoke. I’d sing anything. I’m really bad at remembering songs, I can do anything though for the fun of it.”

OPTION PRIME OR PRIME OPTION?

“Prime Option, that’s always the quickest way.”

SHOEY OUT OF YOUR TEAMMATE’S SHOE OR YOUR BOSS’ SHOE?

“Ooof… Quite a difficult one. Teammate, because I know Enzo changes his shoes all the time, so they’d be more fresh.”

LATE-BRAKING DIVE DOWN THE INSIDE OR SWEEP ALL THE WAY AROUND THE OUTSIDE?

“Around the outside is always better, it’s more difficult to do it so it looks better on the TV.”

WIN FROM POLE OR LAST?

“Win from pole because you did pole, you get the points for pole and the win!”
