Formula 2 is back for the final two rounds of the 2025 season, with the Drivers’ Championship on the line, and with five contenders still dreaming of glory.

Three of those contenders, Luke Browning, Richard Verschoor and Alexander Dunne have been sharing their thoughts ahead of the double header, their chances of winning the title, and how they will be approaching these next few days.

THIRD PLACE: LUKE BROWNING – ‘THERE’S ONE GOAL, TO WIN”

“It has been a long break, so it's nice to be back. I'm ready, I think it's the way to put it. I can't wait, I am excited. I am looking forward to getting these final two rounds underway. It's exciting to have this opportunity, and I am going to enjoy fighting for the title.

“Hitech have done a fantastic job, especially over the past few weekends, between me and Dino, we have scored some very good points, and it has put us in a good place in the Teams' Championship.

“The team were very strong here last year, so we know where we should be, so it will be all about executing. But as we know, it's not easy this Championship, so trying to keep everything under control and just doing our job will be the main thing, and then see what happens.

“There's one goal, to win. But equally, there is ways to go about it. It doesn't mean throwing everything at the wall at this point, it's just trying to score the most amount of points over the next two weekends. That just maximising what we've got, maximising myself and hopefully when we get to that end race in Abu Dhabi it will be enough.

“But we are well prepared. We are ready to fight but we are just going to take it like any other two rounds. We know who we are fighting against, so it will be about not letting these guys past and trying to score more points than them.”

FOURTH PLACE: RICHARD VERSCHOOR – ‘I AM VERY CONFIDENT WE CAN DO A GOOD JOB”

“I am very excited, I haven't touched a race car for two months. But I think it's a bit like cycling, the first lap you have to see if everything is still the same and from then on, I think we will be good.

“It’s very nice that last year MP and I got to experience our two rounds together, it gave us some good data for this year. I know that we are competitive on this track, and I like these kind of tracks, this one and Abu Dhabi.

“I think we just need to focus on ourselves, see if we can extract the most performance from the car and myself, but I am very confident we can do a good job here and hopefully put some pressure on.

“You need confidence around here. It's a very high-speed track. There are many corners, especially in sector three where you need the confidence in the car and yourself, that's where it starts. On the other hand, I have not driven for two months, so to be on the limit in six or seven laps on FP will be very important to be ready for quali.

“For me it doesn't change much to think about the title picture, it doesn't really matter. I just have to perform here in Qatar and the only thing I can do to still be in the fight is to win this weekend. It will be our only aim, to score good points in the Sprint and the Feature Race.

“I just have to look at it, session by session, and it all starts with confidence in myself and the team, which at the moment is very high. I am just very excited mostly to be back in the car and I will just try to enjoy my last two weekends in F2.”

FIFTH PLACE: ALEXANDER DUNNE – ‘NOTHING TO LOSE AND ALL TO GAIN”

“Realistically I have nothing to lose and all to gain. That doesn't necessarily mean I am going to go crazy at the last two rounds, but there are some things that maybe if Leo is in a position, he'd back out, because he has more to lose whereas for me, I will just be able to push on.

“The main approach is just to maximise both weekends. To put the lap together, have a strong Qualifying, drive as cleanly possible, make our way through the grid in the Sprint Race, and have a strong Feature Race.

“We are in a position were pushing to go for more is better than sacrificing and going for less. We will just have the same approach that we have had, through Qualifying and the weekend and when it comes to races, I am position where risking that little bit more is possible.

“Having a break was nice. After Monza and Baku, the Feature Race for both of those was the exact same issue unfortunately. So to have a while, spend some time with family, friends, with my girlfriend was nice, it was needed.

“At the end of the Baku weekend, I was disappointed, and I felt that the championship was slipping away a little bit, but to have that break, have a chance to reset, come back completely refreshed, in new colours as well, it was nice to have a break and just reset a little bit.

“Ultimately the goal now if the Championship is not possible, try to win the last two Feature Races of the year would be very nice, at least to get back the win we lost earlier in the year. The team and I do a good job of working in harmony and that's what we will continue to do.

“I'm excited. The pace has always been strong. Qatar has always been a track that I have enjoyed typically, sector three has a nice flow to it and I have always enjoyed the higher speed tracks.

“I think the preparation has been good, we've done a lot of work in the sim and with the team. Martinius is here as well, he is someone I get along with, so the whole vibe in the team is nice and I am ready to go racing.”
