As the sun sets on the 2024 season, the Formula 2 Prize Giving Ceremony put an official bow on the campaign as teams and drivers came together to celebrate their efforts and the Champions.

Along with the top three and Champion trophies, several awards were presented, and we begin with the Aramco Best Performance Award, won by Isack Hadjar for his Melbourne race weekend.

Having lost the Sprint Race victory to a post-race time penalty, the Frenchman rebounded on Sunday to capitalise and secure his first Feature Race and Formula 2 victory.

It proved to be a breakthrough moment, as it built the foundations to his title-contending campaign, going on to win the following Feature Race at Imola, and adding another two at Silverstone and Spa-Francorchamps to end the year with the most wins of any driver.

"Thank you very much to Aramco for this great trophy," Hadjar said. "It highlights my race weekend in Melbourne which was my best memory of the year. It started my season and it ended a long wait of zero podiums. It was the start of a great great season. In my mind I won both races, I did the double so it's cool"

The Campos Racing driver kept out of trouble in the opening stint and capitalised just before the Virtual Safety Car was deployed, making his mandatory stop before the race was neutralised.

He rejoined in the lower reaches of the top 10 and as the effective race leader with those on the alternative strategy ahead on the road but yet to pit.

From there, he controlled things comfortably, making passes on several rivals and keeping closest challenger Paul Aron at arm’s length to claim his maiden victory in the Championship.

The win lifted him to fourth in the Standings, and he only continued to gain from there, fighting for the title right to the end of the year.
