Following his announcement at DAMS, we hand the reigns over to Roy Nissany who crafts a brand-new addition to the FIA Formula 2 calendar. Choosing everything from the country, to the celebrity that he would invite, the 26-year-old creates a new race weekend.

WHERE WOULD THE RACE BE HELD?

“I would hold the race in Israel (you can probably guess why!) Israel does not have a particularly fancy motorsports legacy and I would love to enhance it a bit.

“To be specific, I would race in Jerusalem. Loads of people have probably visited Tel-Aviv and know how special and modern it is, but I believe that the most sensational and legendary race could be held in the streets of Old Jerusalem.”

HOW WOULD THE TRACK BE LAID OUT?

“It would be a street circuit, technically, but I would find a way to go from the city and up into the mountains in Jerusalem. There is a beautiful view up there and a nice place for the helicopter to capture the old city and the Formula 2 cars climbing up the mountains of Jerusalem.

“It will have all types of corners, extremely fast up the mountains and very slow and technical inside the old city, when it would become very narrow, like the castle section in Baku.

“There would also be blind, uphill corners like at Portimão, for example. I am sure it would be very special, I am already imagining it and getting into it, I want to drive it already!”

DAY OR NIGHT?

“I would hold the race at sunrise, when the sun is coming up. Everybody would have to wake up early, but it would be worth it.”

WET OR DRY?

“I will say dry because this is the real Israeli weather... Rain would make this too much of a fantasy.”

WHICH CELEBRITY WOULD YOU INVITE TO THE RACE?

“I would invite one of my favourite actors, Natalie Portman. She has a good connection to Israel and Judaism and I would like to meet her myself as well.”
