Villagómez handed grid drop after Imola Feature Race

Following the conclusion of the FIA Formula 2 Feature Race around Imola, Van Amersfoort Racing driver Rafael Villagómez has been handed a post-race penalty.

During the Feature event, Car 25 of Villagómez made contact with Car 22, belonging to Sami Meguetounif of TRIDENT at the exit of Turn 2.

After the race, the Stewards reviewed available video evidence and heard from both the drivers and their team representatives.

They judged that Car 25 was wholly to blame for the collision and elected to apply the standard 10-second time penalty for the incident.

Due to Car 25 not being classified, the 10-second time penalty is converted into a five-place grid drop for the next race in which the driver competes.
