Seventh place in the Teams’ Standings was not in the plan for ART Grand Prix last year, but the French squad was able to make marked improvement across the year.

A slower start gave way to regular points and podiums, and that will be the aim once again as they look to climb back up the Standings and back to their Championship-contending level.

To help them do that, they have re-signed Victor Martins and will welcome Ritomo Miyata for the 2025 season. Both will be hoping to enjoy stronger results this time around.

Victor Martins returns to ART Grand Prix for a third F2 season after a strong maiden campaign and a trickier follow-up effort. The Frenchman couldn’t replicate his impressive 2023 season, instead falling to seventh in the Standings.

His high points from last year were as expected however, as he claimed victory in the Barcelona Sprint Race and another seven top five finishes, four of those being podium results and P2 finishes.

That step up in frequency of points-scoring results and top five finishes in the latter half of the 2024 campaign bodes well for the upcoming season, as he and ART look to have found a gain in performance after a slow start to last year.

As results improved, so did his confidence and by the end of the year, Martins was racing as we’d seen in 2023 when he achieved fifth in the Standings and won the Anthoine Hubert Award as the highest-ranked rookie.

In 2025, he will be the experienced head amongst a field of promising rookies and returning drivers, so can he press that advantage home and turn it into stronger results, the kind we’d seen from the Frenchman in the past?

Over on the other side of the ART garage, Ritomo Miyata returns for his second season in Formula 2, fresh from gaining valuable experience of racing in Europe and in F2 machinery.

2024 marked Miyata’s first foray into racing in Europe and at several tracks he’d never experienced prior. He says it was a hugely important factor as he built up his understanding of how to race the venues his rivals have grown up racing around.

With a full F2 campaign under his belt, he goes into 2025 on a more even footing compared to his rookie year. That could make a big difference as the calendar is unchanged from last season.

He also got a taste of Formula 1 action ahead of the new campaign getting underway, taking the Haas VF-23 around Jerez.

Having worked with a Formula 2 team and understanding the demands and best methods of working on the fast-paced F2 weekend, Miyata is in a much stronger position than he was 12 months ago.

He is now well placed to build upon his best results of 2024, two P5 finishes around the Albert Park street circuit. He could hit the ground running then with the first event of the year coming Down Under in Melbourne.

After a tricky year in 2024, ART found their footing in the latter half of the previous season and will be targeting a fast start this time around in 2025. The Championship-calibre team has the familiarity of Martins and potential of Miyata to help them in their cause this time around.

With a much stronger base to go from this go around, ART will be eager to secure some strong results early on to gain some momentum and put the memory of the 2024 season behind them quickly.
