Théo Pourchaire is fresh from getting his season back on track in Melbourne and the Frenchman heads to Baku second in the Drivers’ Championship.

Before he refocuses on the racing, we put some very important questions to the ART Grand Prix driver. Plenty of them got him laughing, but what did Pourchaire pick when forced to make some very tough decisions?

WEIGHTS OR CARDIO?

“I prefer weights over cardio. I do both, just a little bit of both, but I prefer the weights.”

HOME OR MONACO GP WIN?

“The Monaco Grand Prix is the best one. The best race to win one day in F1. If one day I’m in F1, my dream is to win the Monaco Grand Prix but if France is back on the calendar by then, I would say I would love to win in France. The atmosphere was incredible there last year.”

OVERSTEER OR UNDERSTEER?

“I would say understeer. I mean, I like it because it's a bit more stable so you can you have a bit more confidence, you can push a lot to create an unstable car. If you have an unstable car from the beginning, it's not very good. For example, on a track like Jeddah, it’s just not good.”

FAVOURITE MEAL EVERYDAY FOR A YEAR OR GIVE IT UP FOREVER?

“I would say my favourite meal is a double cheeseburger. I don't imagine my trainers would be too happy if I’m having double cheeseburgers every day, so I’ll try to avoid that.”

HANDS FOR FEET OR FEET FOR HANDS?

“I would say hands for feet, driving would still be possible if you had hands instead of feet, so I think it’s pretty doable.”

FIRST OR LAST TO ARRIVE?

“I would prefer to be first, but I won’t lie, I’m always a little bit late. To be honest, this year at ART, we introduced a little game where as soon as somebody else is like five minutes late to the track, it’s noted somewhere on a paper or something like that. At the end of every three rounds, someone has to pay for dinner at the restaurant. At the moment, I'm the leader. Maybe we’ll go to McDonald's…”

TOO HOT OR TOO COLD?

“I prefer to be too cold.”

RACESUIT THAT’S TOO TIGHT OR TOO BIG?

“To be too big, it's not looking very good when you have the big, big race suit, but it's comfortable. I’d go with that.”

ROCK OR HIP HOP?

“Hip hop. I like Drake and American rap music, I have a few favourites, but I listen to a lot of music.”

KARAOKE OR DANCE OFF?

“I think if I do it, then I’d do karaoke. I tell you would love to listen to me singing, it's terrible, but I like it. No singing over the radio. I mean I can try, but it would be terrible.”

INDY 500 OR LE MANS VICTORY?

“That’s a tough one. Let's go with Le Mans because it's in France. I lived there for four years because there was a public school there for motorsport drivers. I like it, it's a very tough challenge, but also the Indy 500 is very spectacular. I like both but let's go with Le Mans.”

READ PEOPLE’S MINDS OR TELEPORTATION?

“Read people's minds. It can be interesting. Teleportation I think would cut down a lot of trouble. It’d be so good because you’d never have to wait at the airport. I don't like planes to be honest.”

PRIME-OPTION OR OPTION-PRIME?

“That's a good question. It depends. Let's go with prime-option. It's good to finish with options, it's faster.”

SHOEY OUT OF TEAMMATE’S OR BOSS’ SHOE?

“Ooof… I think I’m good after Melbourne.”

LATE BRAKE DOWN THE INSIDE OR SWEEP ALL THE WAY AROUND THE OUTSIDE?

“I think a move around the outside is really good because it's more difficult. It depends but I like both. If it's a late-braking move on the inside then that can be good as well.”

WIN FROM LAST OR WIN FROM POLE?

Win from last for sure, it’s a lot more exciting. If I have to choose for sure to do the pole and to win from pole. It's the most perfect result we can possibly do, but I mean you don't have that extra adrenaline overtaking everyone and that's amazing, too. I don't know if it's possible to win from last in F2. If we have to do it this year, maybe we need to check some things but we’ll see.”
