Already a two-time race winner in his rookie Formula 2 season, Arvid Lindblad is right in the middle of the title fight heading into the final four rounds of the campaign.

The Campos Racing driver will be heading off for some much needed rest during the summer break, although he will probably be making time for a few of his interests, one of them being maths.

“One of the things people don't know about me, although it is starting to become more known, is that I am partly of Indian heritage. My grandparents are from India, but from the part of India that is now Pakistan, so the northwest.

“Interest-wise, if I'm being honest, I don't have loads of interest outside of racing, because it's taken up my whole life. But I am not that much at home, so whenever I am home, I enjoy spending time with friends and family.

“I am quite into sports in general, so I like watching all sports. My favourite one, I guess would be MotoGP, and even football I guess you would say.

“For MotoGP, I guess there's an actual link of motorsport, Formula 1, and MotoGP, they are the highest level, the pinnacle of their respective category on two wheels and four wheels.

“I know Oliver Rowland very well, and one day I went to his house and he is really into it, and he was watching it and then I watched it and thought it was cool, so I started watching a bit myself, and fell in love with it just like that.

“My favourite rider would probably Marc Marquez, I just think he insane, it's a bit of a boring answer, but I just think it's impressive what he can do in the bike. I really like Pedro Acosta and Fabio Quartararo is quite cool as well.

“Recently, I have started to get more into clothing as well, a side interest when I have a bit of time, so that's about it at the moment.

“I'm not sure where that has come from, maybe it's with all the travelling and stuff, you see different things. I am not super into it, not like Lewis Hamilton, not like that, but I guess with the travelling, seeing different things I think are quite cool, I decided to take an interest in it.

“If I am being honest, the biggest thing for me is when I can spend time with friends and family, because I don't get to do so that often, that's the big one.

“I moved to Portugal not that long ago, so I am now based just outside of Lisbon, but my brother still goes to school in the UK, so I still spend a lot of time there, and I go between the two.

“Also, I wouldn't say it's an interest of mine, but growing up school was very important, especially to my mum, so there were many days when I was at the track, doing my homework.

“I'm still home-schooled, working towards my A-Levels. It's been okay, I am sort of now at the point in my career that I only get one shot now, so we've put the schooling basically second priority in a sense.

“So, whenever I can, I do the schoolwork, but I am not doing my maths homework at the racetrack. But when I have time off, I am still doing lessons.

“I have always liked numbers and problem solving and that kind of thing, so maths was my kind of thing, so I am studying maths and chemistry. I hate all sorts of written subjects, like English, I was not having fun during my GCSE.

“The system has changed a bit now, it's nine to one and I got nines in everything, and seven in English. So, I'm not sure what that is, maybe an A or a B, so I did okay.

“But to be honest, I hated it so much I just did three or four months of revision. English is one of those subjects, it's mainly writing, so I did that for a couple of months, so English was not for me.”
