Joshua Duerksen joins Mercedes Formula 1 Team as Development Driver

The Mercedes Formula 1 Team have announced that Joshua Duersken has joined as Development Driver for the 2026 season.
The Paraguayan joins the team after two seasons in FIA Formula 2 during which he has achieved four victories and 12 podiums in total.
For 2026, Duerksen is set to return for a third campaign in F2, joining reigning Teams’ Champions Invicta Racing, and will now be doing so with the support of Mercedes.
Duerksen's duties for the team will include carrying out simulator work, and he will also get several days of Testing of Previous Cars (TPC) running.
The 22-year-old is set to be back in the car at pre-season testing later this month, before Round 1 of the 2026 FIA Formula 2 season in Melbourne from March 6-8.
