Joshua Duerksen will line up for Invicta Racing in 2026 after being confirmed to be making the switch to the Norfolk-based team next season.

The Paraguayan driver has so far spent his F2 career with the same team, but will have an all-new experience when he returns for year three in the Championship, a prospect he’s looking forward to.

Duerksen said that while his preparations for next season won’t begin in earnest until after the current campaign is over, he’s excited about the switch.

“I'm very happy. I am still very happy and grateful that AIX gave me this opportunity, because it's basically also thanks to them that I'm racing in F2, and thanks to them that I get this chance with Invicta.

“But I'm really, really happy. Invicta have shown that they are very quick, that they're the best and have a great team, great people, a great environment and car. It looks like it's working really, really well there.

“So, I am very excited to see how I can adapt to the team, how we can develop each other together, and just to experience how a top team works. I'm very, very excited for next year.

“I haven’t been to visit them at the workshop yet. I’m still an AIX Racing driver so there has been contact, but not too much. I still want to finish the season strongly with my current team, but then after that, I will be 100% focused on things for next year.”

Duerksen says his goal is to finish the 2025 campaign on the strongest possible note with AIX, and only after the Sunday at Yas Marina will his focus shift to what comes next.

With post-season testing following the year’s finale immediately, there’s little time to waste, and he will be aiming to get up to speed as soon as he can with his future team.

“I think Sunday will probably go like, I finish the race on Sunday, do my debrief with the team and then have a goodbye that night. But then from Monday it’s all focus on 2026 with Invicta.

“It’s quite easy to focus on the job first because until that chequered flag falls, I’m all in on this season. Then I will start with Invicta learning about the procedures, getting to know the team and doing all the things I need to for the post-season test. I’m excited to see what I can learn from them as well.”

Duerksen’s teammate has already been confirmed, with Formula 3 Champion Rafael Câmara stepping up alongside him in what will be an all-South American line-up at the British team.

Invicta have of course achieved success before with a Brazilian, with Gabriel Bortoleto securing them the Drivers’ Championship and helping them win the Teams’ title back in 2024.

It’s something Duerksen says he and Câmara will be aiming to replicate, and expects their similarities will only help the team.

“It’s really cool having a South American as a teammate, especially a Brazilian one, as we’re basically neighbours coming from Paraguay and Brazil. I’m sure we will have a few things in common, and a good understanding of each other.

“He’s a very quick driver, F3 Champion so that speaks for itself, and I’m really excited to be working with him as he’s a great talent. I’m sure we will push each other forwards and that will automatically make the team strong as well.”

While the 22-year-old hasn’t been able to start his preparations for 2026 in earnest just yet, he knows what his goal will be entering year three of F2: the title.

He says what comes next in his career is hugely important and creates a challenge he is relishing.

“From what I have experienced though, it’s a very good environment and they are very good people. The talk so far has been about logistical things, hotels for post-season for example, but once the season is finished, things will start properly.

“Year three in F2 is very important. It’s the final year you could get a chance at F1 really, and I want to show that I have what it takes.

“I will be aiming to get the Super Licence points and go for the Championship. And I think that to do that, a third year with Invicta is the best choice there could be.”
