Rafael Câmara aiming to complete Invicta sweep at Spa after 'good points for the championship'

Rafael Câmara finished P6 in the Sprint Race but has eyes on another win on Sunday

Rafael Câmara was happy to score more points in the title fight but has higher hopes for Sunday's Feature Race.

The Invicta Racing driver finished P6 in Saturday's Sprint but will be going from Pole Position on Sunday morning after claiming his fourth Pole of the season.

Back in the paddock following the Sprint Race, the Scuderia Ferrari Driver Academy talent says it was a positive race, but changes will be made in order to go even better tomorrow.

"I'm quite happy with the race," he said. "I managed to get a good start and after that good positioning in T1, so I was able to gain some positions.

"Afterwards, it was a bit tricky with everyone in the DRS train, so that was making life a bit difficult to get the speed to overtake down to T5 or going to the last chicane. So overall, I'm happy, it was a good read for Sunday's race.

"We can have a good look at the data and fine tune the car a bit for tomorrow. We had some good battles, I was able to make some places on the last lap as well battling with Alex and Montoya.

Câmara was sixth after a last lap pass on Montoya

"Almost got Alex as well, but it was good points for the championship, a good Saturday, and now we focus for tomorrow."

Much of the race was spent in a finely-poised fight for the lower points positions as a DRS train emerged.

After gaining a spot on the final lap and looking back over the on-track battles, Câmara says it was good experience to carry into the Feature Race. Nailing moves and being as efficient as possible with overtakes will be even more important with strategy in the equation and a mandatory stop to consider.

"I think it's good to have an idea on how to better prepare your overtakes or how you need to position yourself, how you can manage that gap better, because in the DRS train it's quite tough to pass.

"So for sure that gives a good indicator, especially for me on the driver's side. It gives you some good information for tomorrow to know what to do in some different scenarios. So now it's just about getting as much knowledge for tomorrow, so you're ready for everything."

Invicta are on a run of three consecutive F2 victories around Spa

Having taken his fourth pole of 2026 on Friday, Câmara is focused on converting that into a second victory of his rookie season in F2.

With Invicta Racing now going for four-consecutive victories around Spa-Francorchamps, he is confident they will be able to fight for top honours, but their recent form in Belgium won't impact their preparations.

"I'm quite positive for tomorrow's race. The pace has been looking quite good, and it was also the same in quali, we were good.

"So it's looking very positive for tomorrow, but in the end, our recent form doesn't really change the approach of how we're doing things, we're just focusing on ourselves and trying to do the best we can."
